My name is Chris Buckley I am a level 2 swim teacher, pool responder and am DBS checked.
I started my swimming teaching career in 2011. I have also worked in a special educational needs school as a teaching assistant and covering swimming teacher. Here, I taught children with a variety of needs in group swimming lessons and 1-2-1.
In 2015 I began teaching at an independent school where I taught private 1-2-1 lessons, group lessons for up to 15 children, school swimming lessons and the swim team. In October 2017 the dream of setting up my own swim school became a reality and Cygnet Swimming Lessons began.
Cygnet Swimming now has over 130 swimmers and I hope to continue to grow in numbers.
I am extremely passionate about swimming and water confidence. If I am not teaching other people's’ children to swim then you will find me in the water with my own son with just as much energy and enthusiasm!
Cygnet Swimming Lessons would not be running today without the support from all of the parents. Their recommendations have meant that I can come into work each day loving what I do.

My name is Isabelle Aaron - I am a Level 2 swim teacher, NPLQ qualified, and DBS checked.
I swam and competed as a member at a swimming club from the age of 9 up until I was 17 and from the age of 14, I was a volunteer coach at the club helping to teach the younger swimmers. Following that I worked as a part time lifeguard whilst in college and after college I continued as a full-time lifeguard with an NPLQ (National Pool Lifeguard Qualification) and Level 1 First Aid Training Certificate. During my time as a lifeguard, I also gained my level 1 and 2 Swim Teacher Qualification and helped to cover swimming lessons within a leisure centre setting.
I’ve moved onto working as a special educational teaching assistant in a mainstream high school but couldn’t put aside my love for swim teaching and so I continue to provide swimming lessons as a part time teacher in the evening.
I have always been confident in and around water and have a passion to make others feel the same. As part of my leisure time, I enjoy water-skiing at Carr Mill Dam and surfing holidays in Cornwall. Throughout my time swim teaching I have worked 1 to 1 with swimmers, as well as with classes of 6-12 swimmers with a variety of different ages and needs – including adults.

My name is Nicola. I am a Level 2 swim teacher, NRASTC qualified, and DBS checked.
I swam from the age of 3 for a swimming club and competed from the age of 7 until the age of 14 when unfortunately I had to finish due to an injury.
I qualified as a swim teacher in 2022. I have always been confident around water and extremely passionate about swimming. Throughout my time teaching swimming I have worked with children from the age of 3 and up and taught 1-2-1 lessons for both adults and children. I have also taught children with special needs and disabilities.
Seeing children grow in confidence and progress in the water is the reason I love being a swim teacher.
